Black Creatives To Follow & Support

What a time in history. The feelings of grief, rage and disappointment have us all in turmoil. I follow Lyn Slater, the author of the fabulous blog, ACCIDENTAL ICON. Lyn wrote a piece that made me stop cold. It is called “Context and the Meaning of Living Your Best Life.” You can read it here. I also read another post regarding the “All Woman Project” in Vogue that you can find here. As a middle aged white woman of privilege, I know I need to do more, understand more and be a better woman and friend. I thought I knew. I thought I got it. Now I realize I didn’t have a clue. So this will be a time for me to listen, to learn, to grow and to support black lives.

Connection is what brought me to this space. Meeting women from all over the world through blogging and instagram is a wonderful journey. Women of all races, sizes, ages and styles who bravely share their stories and souls is inspiring and humbling. This experience has enriched my life more than I can express. So now I hope to use my small platform to introduce you to 4 extraordinary black creative women. We had an afternoon to connect via zoom and the one thread I heard from these women is a need to be SEEN, to receive OPPORTUNITIES and to be INCLUDED in this community. Everyone of these ladies has a unique niche. No matter the color of our skin, we are so much more alike than we are different. Please follow and support them. There is so much to learn, so much to share and so much hope to be had.

I saw a quote somewhere that said “May you go from overlooked to overbooked”! Here’s hoping! I want to thank Stephanie, Cynthia, Tonya and Eugenia. These exceptional women give me hope. And that my friends is priceless.

As always, I thank YOU for taking the time to stop by. May our hearts be open to change. May we be the change. May we do it together with loving and open hearts.

XOXO, Kim
