Summer and gingham go hand in hand, don’t you think? I love that it feels fresh and happy. Whether in small pattern or large I will be embracing gingham all season. I have never been shy to try a look or trend, I am neither completely classic or trendy, I am just me rocking what makes me feel good. I may miss the mark and that is A OK in my book. If we are afraid to try something new then we are stuck. Do you agree with that? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Memorial Day. I love Memorial Day remembering everyone who has served and honored our country, some paying the ultimate sacrifice. I grew up in a town that had a fabulous Memorial Day parade and all the military, boy scouts, girl scouts, high school bands, police, fire departments and just about everyone in town came out, it was wonderful. I think we need some patriotic spirit right now, just a little more flag waving and little more together we stand.

Is there anything better than an easy dress to get you polished and out the door fast?  This darling one comes in several colors and is under $100! I think I am going to need all of them as summer stays here in South Texas for so long.  I also will be bringing it with me on all my summer travels.  It will be easy to pack and won’t weigh down my suitcase, which is a true must these days.  A flat shoeand cute clutch or cross body for exploring or lunch would be perfect and then dress it up for later with a statement earring, dramatic eye makeup and a higher sandal for dinner and dare I hope, a little dancing! This little dress has become quite the work horse for my summer wardrobe.

I just love the colors in this pom pom dress.  It is a perfect dress for all the celebrations summer has coming our way.  Wear with flats to the summer street festivals and with a heel to dress it up or even barefoot at the beach or pool.  I am completely obsessed with the pom pom tassel trend but at this price point I don’t mind bringing it to the pool or beach.  No worries of ruining it.  I found mine at a darling, award winning boutique here in San Antonio, called Camilla Crown.  It sold out before it even hit the floor!  Heads up, follow Camilla Crown on instagram and if you see something you love call right away and have them hold or ship.  Everything flies out the door in days!
