My Positano Travel Guide
Buon giorno! Italy how I love you! You were everything and more. The breathtaking views, the food, the beach, the shopping! Oh y’all the shopping! I purchased this look including the scarf for under $30 in Positano at the cutest boutique that has locations around every corner! So here is Positano through my lens!
To visit Positano is like being immersed in a beautiful painting. From the time I was a little girl and saw paintings at my great Aunt Ethel’s house I have wanted to explore Italy. This is my second visit to Italy and my first to Positano! I mean just look at this place. The trip got started from Chicago, where my sister Lynn lives. We took Alitalia straight to Rome. We arrived early Saturday morning and the line to go through customs was about an hour and half long. It’s hot so dress appropriately! After getting our luggage we met our driver for the 4 (or so we thought) hour drive to Positano. It ended up closer to 5 hours due to traffic. Saturday may not be the best day to arrive in Italy. Everyone is off and the narrow streets are very crowded! (You can also take a train from Rome to Naples and then a ferry to Positano but it can be iffy if the seas are rough). As soon as we arrived I could just feel the tension melt away! We stayed at Hotel L’Ancora on the main street coming in and out of Positano. The views were amazing! It has a great restaurant where breakfast is included.
After getting our room we immediately got ready to hit the beach, called Spiaggia Grande! A word to the wise here, it is not a sand beach but a lava rock beach. There is a public beach with no chairs and you lay right on the rock, umm no thanks! Right next to the public beach is the cutest beach with umbrellas and tables for drinks and snacks where you rent chairs for a crazy amount of euro which is what we did! #worthit We actually fell asleep listening to the sea crash into the shore. Relaxation at its best.
Woke up pretty hungry and right on the beach there are so many options. There is a little joint right before the stairs up to the church and we strolled over. Cocktails with olives, chips and nuts (free with drink order). We ordered the most delicious slices of margherita pizza and I was feeling like the happiest girl in the world. Jet lag? What jet lag, I’m in Italy!!!! (we ate here several times, easy no fuss) Can I just ask why why why are the olives here so good? I admit to consuming lots of them every single day!
We then climbed up the mountain back to our hotel passing all the alleyways and shops along the way! (Do not wear anything but sensible shoes! Trust me on this. After a fall it was Birkenstocks constantly for me.)
This is the bar called Franco’s right next to our hotel. It’s a great spot to watch the sunset and see the Positano hillside light up like the jewel it is! The poolside bar at Hotel Poseidon has great views to enjoy champs and cocktails too!
Our weather was not the best (rain rain rain) and hindered many of our plans (got half way to Revello and the rains were just too much) but even so it was the first leg of a trip of lifetime. I guess I will just have to go back!

Happy Friday Loves!
Let’s get this weekend started with my Friday’s Faves!
I am in love with a white ruffled sleeve crossover blouse that just elevates anything you pair with it. This blouse has a dramatic flare which will add that wow factor to anything you pair it with. Classic black and white is always a favorite that never goes out of style.
Can I just tell you how much I love love love Julie Vos Jewelry! The beauty and quality of this jewelry is unbelievable. Seriously ladies, get these on your wish list now, you will not be sorry. These pieces will be heirlooms and my girl’s are starting their own collections. I get stopped everywhere I go. I was sitting having lunch at Nordstrom, three people stopped to ask about my jewelry and who doesn’t love a compliment? The new pieces for fall have me drooling, so Game of Thrones and rich, rich, rich! Talk about living the gold life!
I have just received the most wonderful booties from Rockport. The style and unbelievable comfort of these booties has me over the moon to think I can wear them all day and not have to worry about my feet killing me at the end of the day. The color and drape of the leather along with the most cushy lining will make you smile from the moment you slip them on. Rockport has the brain of comfort technology that meets with classic style. These booties are made for those on the move.
These will be on repeat all season. I have linked some others that I have my eye on. A girl can never have too many options, don’t you agree?
And finally, as Texas has been my home for the past 21 years, and my daughter, That Blonde Rebel, is a new resident of Houston, I want to express all my love and prayers for everyone who is hurting so badly from Hurricane Harvey. We know how lucky we are. No damage here. My heart hurts and yet my faith in people has been restored by the many many people who came together to save lives. I have never been so proud of the Texas people and I am very proud to be a Texan. I wish to thank everyone who has helped, prayed, donated, texted, offered to help my daughter, called to see how I was doing and just sent so much love to my family and our state. It won’t be fast, it won’t be easy but we will come back.

AND did I mention that Trunk Club is a Nordstrom company so not only will you receive personalized expert service and convenience to look your best, you will even earn those awesome Nordstrom Rewards! I mean it doesn’t get better than that.
Elena choose these shoes for me and I love how they elongate my leg and make me feel so comfortable in white jeans. Now that is magic!
It’s all in the details from lace sleeves, earrings and accessories to all those cult favorites! And the best part is I am not running around searching for my must have items, Elena did it ALL for me!

Pink Lady
Do you believe in the power of color? I wore this look over the weekend in San Antonio. When it comes to color, I love pink, but especially this shade of pink. I call it carnation pink! I think this is a fun look and I received compliments all day, which come on, makes it one happy day for sure. So Yes! I do believe in the power of color and the power of pink! What shades of color can pick you up and make you smile?

Summer Thrills and Frills
From the second I saw this dress on the cover of the H&M Catalog, I was smitten. I looked for it for weeks online all to no avail. I walked into my local H&M and low and behold there is was! Score!!!! I just love it. I wore it to a girlfriend reunion lunch with some of my favorite fashionista’s this week and seriously I got so many compliments. (Doesn’t that make a girl’s day?!!!)

Styling A Cropped Jumpsuit
Stop the presses, we got some rain and it actually cooled us down a bit so I could show you a few of my favorite pieces!
I love a classic jumpsuit and this one offered a little edge that I personally love! I have great news for all of you, The jumpsuit and jacket are are MAJOR sale and you need them both for they will take you from summer into fall. I will be using the jacket to go anywhere there is AC! (I mean I just don’t get how restaurants, movie theaters, doctors offices want to turn us into popsicle’s, do you? It may be 102 outside but inside is like a meat locker!) I think I will style the jumpsuit with a light layer in the fall and add a boot too, so stay tuned for an update in the fall. White this Way!
Well, summer has officially arrived and so has the heat wave. So here is what I recommend to make it through these hot days. Rule one, run and go somewhere cooler!
If that is not possible, pour yourself a cool drink with lots of ice. Seriously Y’all, this heat is brutal and trying to stay fresh and cool is a daily goal. So here is my homage to some of my favorite pieces to have to beat this heat. The common goal is white and light cause it just feels right. This dress is under $50 but I did have to add a slip from my closet as it is sheer. This cool dress will be on repeat all summer.

Summer Breeze
I just am head over heels in love with this beautiful dress. It is so pretty and don’t you just love this embroidered mesh overlay? It is very comfortable and has everything I love in a dress, as in great length, sleeves and feels soft and comfortable on.
If you hurry you may still find this dress in some HM stores, I saw a few in San Antonio on the rack, but it is no longer found online (insert sad face). But I have linked a few other beautiful embroidered pieces that you and I will both have to pick up fast before they are gone too!
